Makayla Wright is the Youth Voice Organizer for SOAR, a community based organization that elevates community voice. Makayla grew up in Kansas and went to school in Massachusetts. As a Black woman from the Midwest, she became passionate about community voice as a teenager. And now as a young person, she works to advocate for youth in King County by convening the King County Youth Advisory Council and organizing the King County Action Team for Opportunity Youth United, a nationwide grassroots movement led by youth from nontraditional paths.
