Jesica Avellone is a Seattle-based actor, teacher, and parent, using theatrical and storytelling techniques to encourage empathy, compassion, and creativity. She earned her BFA in Theatre Studies from Boston University, after which she co-founded CollaborationTown, a New York theatre company that creates devised pieces to spark community conversation. She began her 11-year teaching career with the Story Pirates in New York. In the Seattle area, she has taught children of all ages with Studio East, Intiman Theatre’s Living History program, Seattle Shakespeare Company, and Wedgwood Drama Studio. She is most excited to help a group of students awaken their imaginations and empower one another to take creative risks. Jesica's focus as an artist and educator lies in devising new work, movement-based performance, and Shakespeare.
