Krista Galloway has worked in the Afterschool and Youth Development (AYD) field for over 25 years. For the first decade, she led school-age child care and school-based afterschool programs in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. For the next 13 years, she worked at School's Out Washington (SOWA) where she supported a number of professional development and technical assistance projects across the state. Among other things, she led the Washington Regional Afterschool Project, the first few years of Washington's Youth Program Quality Initiative, and the statewide AYD STEM Plan. She is passionate about all things AYD - particularly youth voice, creativity, and STEM. Currently, Krista consults with several local and national afterschool organizations as the AYD Geek, serves as a Senior Consultant for Development Without Limits, and teaches afterschool STEM classes for Seattle's Associated Recreation Council.
