Cultivating Empathy Through Creative Interactions is a key social- emotional skill that can be learned, and has the power to cultivate our environment and this world to be kinder. Youth, as well as adults can learn how to see, listen, and feel at a deeper level. A transformation of self and others happens when empathy skills are strengthened. We become more compassionate, respectful of others, appreciative of difference, can see similarities, and form relationships of trust and acceptance; these are the building blocks of true leadership. Creative curriculum and activities have been developed to build empathy skills for individuals as young as 5th grade.
