Discover best practices for how to create and implement an after school arts-based, social-emotional learning curriculum. We created the Make Your Mark program to encourage youth development, particularly with underserved youth in Title 1 schools, and any students deemed in need of tools to express emotions. Participants will walk away from the session being able to implement an after-school arts-based SEL program, in which 3rd through 5th graders can identify their emotions, and thereby feel empowered. Participants will know how to emotion coach students to elevate their voices: verbally, through group discussion and oral expression; in writing, through guided journal prompts; non-verbally, through completed art work. Participants will also learn how to work directly with the schools, administrators, PTSA enrichment coordinators, family advocates, etc.
